Our Story
It became clear to us after spending years in the restoration industry, that some of our tools were making us work for them, and harder than we needed to! After continually being down on hands and knees, on soaking wet carpet, drilling holes in the wall to set up equipment for drying. It hit us, we can do better.
Gone are the days of risking bodily harm from crawling around on the floor. No more drywall dust from drilling! We figured out how to make the tool do the work for us, and safely at that.

After many different prototypes, the Aerator was born and therefore, the company you see before you. Charlie & Marcus have put their heads together to make tools to make this industry better!

Co-Founder
Charlie Hare is a co-founder of Restoration Tools and a veteran restoration industry leader with decades of hands-on experience in water, fire, and disaster recovery operations.

Before launching Restoration Tools, Charlie owned and operated a successful restoration company, serving in both field and executive leadership roles. Through that real-world experience, he recognized a persistent challenge across the industry: too many projects defaulted to demolition when more efficient, less invasive solutions were available.

Motivated by a commitment to smarter restoration practices, Charlie helped develop Restoration Tools to deliver practical, field-tested solutions designed by restorers—for restorers. His focus has always been on increasing job efficiency, minimizing unnecessary tear-out, reducing costs, and helping contractors complete projects faster while delivering better outcomes for property owners.

Today, Charlie remains actively involved in product development, collaborating closely with restoration professionals to ensure every tool addresses real challenges encountered on the jobsite. His deep operational expertise, combined with a forward-thinking approach to restoration technology, continues to shape Restoration Tools’ mission to elevate industry standards through innovation and performance.

Charlie has called the Rockford, Illinois area home for more than 40 years. When he’s not focused on advancing restoration tools product line, you can find him reading a book, walking with his dog, or flying his plane!
